Turi Trust makes a generous donation to Kids Appeal
The Turi Trust recently made a very generous donation to help kick off the Kids Appeal by presenting the Barwon Health Foundation with a cheque for $10,000 at their annual Gala Ball.
The Turi Trust Gala Ball is a bi-annual event, which was recently held at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne. The event was a celebration of the diversity of the Turi Foods workforce and took guests on a virtual journey to local and overseas destinations where the Turi Trust could have a direct and real impact.
In recognition of theirr commitment to the local community, $10,000 was donated to Barwon Health for the purchase of rehabilitation equipment for children and adolescents in the Geelong region.
The Turi Trust is the philanthropic arm of Turi Foods Pty Ltd, a family owned food manufacturing company with facilities in Thomastown and Geelong.
The Turi Trust is built on the three pillars of fundraising, workplace giving and volunteering. As further incentive to employees, the company dollar matches contributions from workplace giving. All activities are focussed around the health and wellbeing of children both locally, and abroad in countries from which our employees originate.
Since 2011, the Turi Trust has donated just over $1M to some very special children’s charities.
Turi Trust Chair, Pina Di Donato says that their staff play a big role in how the trust support's the community,
"By listening and caring about the causes which are important to their employees, we believe we have been successful in establishing pride in the workplace and a connectedness with the community in which our employees work and live.
We are very proud of the relationships we have built with our local hospitals. It is important for us to support the communities in which our employees live and work."
The Barwon Health Foundation thanks the Turi Trust and their employees for their generous donation and their support over the years.
