Army of volunteers help with fundraising success
As the temperature dropped over the weekend, an army of volunteers were out in force for the Annual Barwon Health Foundation Giving Weekend on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th June.
Bright and early Friday morning volunteers from the hospital and local businesses kicked off the fundraising shaking tins on intersections around Geelong.
A live Bay FM broadcast in the cafeteria at University hospital Geelong also helped to promote the event and give listeners an insight to the Kids Appeal and what the new Kids Rehabilitation Centre will mean for current rehabilitation patients and their families.
Following on Saturday volunteers also helped with merchandise stalls and rattling tins to continue the fundraising efforts. A total of 220 volunteers helped with the fundraising weekend to raise a staggering $47,179.19 for the Kids Appeal.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event, in particular those Barwon Health staff that volunteered their time and helped out over the weekend.
