Investing in our future Research Leaders

Support and investment in the next generation of research leaders allows some of the country’s most remarkable young minds the opportunity to work with brilliant world class teams of researchers at Barwon Health.

A PhD scholarship, at just a $30,000 per annum allowance (typically to cover rent and other necessities), provides our research teams with a vital resource to progress their work and, at the same time, the student gains exceptional experience in a world class research field.

Supporting these bright young minds is vital to the ongoing success of our research programs, allowing our scientists and medical teams to continue contributing to knowledge. Ultimately this will lead to earlier diagnosis, better disease management, new therapies and prevention or cure of a range of diseases.

The Barwon Health Future Fund also plans to establish a new Institute of Research Excellence in Geelong and views this as a vital element in assisting Geelong continue its transformation into a smart, economically strong, vibrant city.
